Prayers for a friend

Postby GingerSnap » 20pm31America/New_York()

Sadly, Laura and I have a dear friend that we went thru all our dx, treatments, hair loss, surgeries, recon, and recovery.......even trips together ... and our bc sister, she is more than a friend, has been dx'd with mets.

I don't want to put her name out there at this time ..... please, our close friends, pm me so you can pray to the Lord and use her name.

We Rocktober sisters need your prayers and so does she ...

I just found out that my friend Nancy has terminal lung cancer. Has 6-8 months to live (same age as me).

Please pray that her transition is comfortable. I'm numb with shock and fear.

God bless her...

I will dedicate my prayers today for Nancy and you Righty. It's very hard on us to hear about our friends or family falling victim to this terrible disease. Hugs to you.

Thank you so much Rosemary. I talked to her on the phone this morning at 4:30...she says everything seems surreal. She's very depressed and fearful. My heart is hurting I feel awful she has to face this. Why, why, why...Darn!

My friend's sister is in the final days - suffering immensely from the vicious breast cancer beast. Her kidneys have almost completely shut down. Liver is next. She is the sister of one of my Rocktober Chemo girls (she's only 41).

Please pray that her transition is as pain free as possible.

Thank you...sigh...

Righty, I'm soooo sorry. A friend of my oldest DD, Renee, died yesterday evening from leukemia. She was a OB/GYN. My DD had a mammo a few months ago and there was calcification that showed. They said to wait six months and come back. Sarah (OB/GYN) told her to get a biopsy now...Renee hasn't. What can I say. Kids will always be KIDS...even you Righty.

Again, I'm so sorry. I hate to hear she's in pain. That makes me want to cry.

Thanks Mims...my friend is absolutely devastated, as well as her parents and other two sisters.

Unbelievable...I just hate this disease.

As for your dd's Dr...OMGoodness...how tragic as well.

Your dd is playing with fire. I hope she wisens up...soon!

Kathy, my friends' sister passed away last night. Less than a month ago, she found out the breast cancer had spread. It helps knowing that she didn't suffer long. But sad because she was so young.

Sigh...

Righty, I am SO sorry.

My DD who was just here visiting with my ONLY two grandchildren had a friend (Kelly) who was way to young to die from this disease. They went to the same school until the 9th grade....took DD out. Anyway, she had two small children. She passed away several months ago. When she was pregnant with her second child she relinquished some treatment because she didn't want to abort.

These incidences are way to close to home. I remember that "little girl" who was friends with my DD. I'll never forget when my DD had a sleepover for her B'day. At bed time Kelly cried. I think she was missing her mom...LOL She finally quit crying and fell asleep. The things we remember from way back then.

There are too many young women losing their lives to this horrid disease.

My friend, Michele, did post at bco about her sister's death. Her heart is hurting so badly. Sigh...

I just found out today that one of the ladies I know (recently met) and I also Just found out she's been battling breast cancer for the last 6 years, has received more bad news. Some scar tissue they've been watching, isn't scar tissue, it's cancer. She's never been cancer free. It's been one thing after another for her.

So prayers for Anna. She's such a lovely person. She looks marvelous too. I was shocked to find out she is in her early 60's. She looks about 40 to me.

I hope God holds her in his hands, just for a second, it's been a long battle for her and with more chemo to come.

Rosemary, how awful. She'll be in my prayers.

Did you see where Ann Romney said she wanted to work on finding a cure for breast cancer and MS. We certainly could use another advocate who truly understands what suffering is. Suffering does not only come from economics, but from challenges from all kinds of chronic and deadly diseases.

Please pray for my friend, Nancy. She's been battling breast cancer for almost a year. After every chemo treatment she's been having breathing issues and ends up in the hospital. Last week they discovered she had a leaky heart valve and did surgery on Monday. In surgery, she was found to have two leaky valves and a congenital hole in her heart. They have repaired all... done this past Monday. She isn't gaining strength and will not eat. Her husband is asking for prayer; he's concerned she's losing the will to fight. She's 60 and has a lot of loved ones and life left for her. She's a loving wonderful person. Please pray for my dear friend.

Also, my daughter miscarried this week... her second one. They are very discouraged and we are all so sad.

Yes, Nancy will be in my prayers. Sue when you say your friend doesn't want to eat believe it or not, that might be good for her. I read an article awhile back, and it said starving a tumor is just as effective as chemo. Hard to believe, I know. It could make sense. Tumors need nourishment to survive. I'm wondering who they starved to find out that news?

Thanks all for praying for Anna.

I'm also sorry to hear about the miscarriages. It's hard on the kids.

Sue, of course we'll pray for your DD and friend.

I feel so badly for your DD and her DH. My DD's BIL AND SIL went to fertility treatments but had two miscarrages (that I know of) before they delivered two healthy boys. I realize that's no comfort to anyone who loses their baby, but I hope it will give them a little HOPE.

Please pray she has a pain free transition.

I know I posted this someplace else, but it of course got lost in the flurry of posts. Please pray fro Bernice and An. They are both friends who have been dxed with cancer. Bernice is a 13 year survivor of breast cancer but now has ovarian cancer. An has been dxed with lung cancer. No, she never smoked and is a health food proponent. Sadly, An is stage 4 but has chosen to fight with everything available to her. She is my next door neighbor. She is down at MDA for treatments.
